Akim Ndlovu was born in Syracuse, New York and finished school in Zimbabwe, his cultural homeland. He has been performing in the New York music, dance, and poetry scene since 1990. He has created movement and sound workshops to express and explore the intuitive 'creative self,' taking him on journeys to Thailand, Africa, Indonesia, Bali, and France. In 1998, Akim founded the world music performance troupe, Dha Fuzion, which grew out of the need for a culturally relevant sound and approach to performance.

Akim has worked in Television, Music Videos, Film, and Theater. He is a two time winner of the Harlem Arts Theater Poetry Slam, and a winner of the PS 122 Dance Contest.
